The Opportunity

As a member of the local Pre-Sales Solutions Engineer, provides representation to prospects and customers for all Sandvine solutions articulating their value proposition, operational benefits and features.

The candidate must possess competitive knowledge in modern IP protocols, virtualization concepts and network policy management, including solution positioning, technology marketplace and competitive product offerings.

The Job

  • Provide pre and post-sales support through requirements gathering, proposal development and delivery of technical presentations via online meetings, on-site or trade shows.
  • Participate in regular meetings and conference calls with Partners, Customers and Sales team to help qualify opportunities and recommend technical solutions.
  • Installing, configuring and leading customer solution evaluation trials and / or POC engagements. Requires ability to work hands-on.
  • Develop and work with others within Sandvine to define technical documents such as solution designs, proposals, product specifications, RFP, RFI, and RFQ responses, diagrams, BOM’s, and quotes / estimates.
  • Effectively answer technical questions regarding the proposed solution that may include questions about installation, configuration, integration and deployment scenarios.
  • Provides consultative product and solution expertise along with Partner and Customer Training
  • Understanding of customer systems and network to work with Professional Services and / or outside partners to deliver required solution
  • Establishing and maintaining a strong and trusted relationships with partners and customers
  • Collaborating with the product team to identify and realize technical improvements to the product based on customer and partner feedback.
  • What skills you bring

  • 10+ years professional experience in technical pre-sales and / or post-sales within the IT / Telecommunications / Virtualization / NFV / Security industry working with Tier-1 mobile and / or fixed line service providers within the Region.
  • French and English Speaker
  • 5+ years of verifiable pre-sales experience is a MUST.
  • Higher Education : BA / BS graduate or technical institution equivalent
  • Experience in Wireless data technologies (WiFi, 3G, 4G / LTE and 5G.
  • Working knowledge of EPC with hands on experience on working with PCEF and PCRF is a MUST. Should be able to understand and troubleshoot Gx / Gy call flows.
  • Understanding of 5g deployment models i.e. Standalone, Non Standalone architecture, CUPS etc.
  • Experience in Fixed line technologies (FTTH & DSL).
  • Strong experience and background with Linux / Unix systems.
  • Certification in Redhat / Linux preferred i.e. Red Hat Virtualization (RH318, RH319), Red Hat Enterprise Performance Tuning (RH442, RH443) OR Equivalent
  • Deep understanding of virtualization technologies and hands on working experience with KVM, VMware & OpenStack.
  • Hands on Experience in setting Virtual Infrastructure and Performance tuning of Host for High Performance Data plane VNF is REQUIRED.
  • Working Knowledge of NFV / Openstack Certification a PLUS i.e. Red Hat OpenStack Administration III : Networking & Foundations of NFV (CL310) OR Equivalent.
  • Experience or exposure into Data Analytics & Visualization platforms
  • Working knowledge of SQL a plus.
  • Ability to work with Data Analytics & Visualization tools like Micro-Strategy, Tableau, dBeaver.
  • Understanding Data ETL concepts a plus (ability to work with PYTHON or other scripting languages to clean format data is preferred.)
  • Desirable experience in Deep Packet Inspection technologies, IP networking, security, analytics platforms and solution selling
  • Strong IP experience with L4-L7 protocols, services and concepts.
  • Strong experience in installing and configuring IP network equipment in a Service Provider (Telecom) environment, with core network skills including RADIUS, AAA, TCP / IP,DHCP, LDAP, SNMP, Ethernet, etc.
  • Experience in developing and presenting solution designs
  • Excellent troubleshooting and investigative skills.
  • Travel for onsite installation and support
