POSITION PURPOSE :
This position serves as the Supervisor for the Quality Control group that supports testing of incoming materials, intermediates and finished goods.
This position takes responsibility for release and support activities, including testing, data analysis, troubleshooting, technical improvements, efficiency improvements and problem solving.
This position may also be involved with investigation of customer complaints, including root cause identification and establishing corrective and preventive actions.
Activities of this position will include developing and improving standard operating procedures and test methods supporting product release
MAJOR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION :
Oversee and serve as back-up to all Quality Control responsibilities.
Supervise Quality Control staff, including managing the lab testing schedule to support manufacturing and supply chain requirements, ensuring employee safety in the lab operations, and training staff to maintain adequate coverage of Quality Control responsibilities.
Develop and maintain procedures for incoming, intermediate and final product testing, including defining statistically based sampling plans and test methods when required.
Supervise incoming inspection process and lead investigations / propose dispositions of nonconforming material.
Conduct data analysis to support release activities.
Troubleshoot and investigate laboratory issues encountered in release testing.as well as in response to customer complaints
Requires secondary education, preferably in the field of science or engineering, with three or more years related experience.
Must have basic laboratory and data analysis skills.
Experience in supervising staff and overseeing a laboratory environment is preferred.
Incumbent must be able to effectively communicate with individuals of varied background and degrees of technical understanding.
Must have knowledge of Quality Control concepts, preferably related to Medical Devices or Pharmaceuticals.
Knowledge of ISO 13485 or ISO 9001, and experience in implementing ISO standards in manufacturing and laboratory practices is required.
Incumbent should possess basic computer skills including working knowledge of Word and Excel.
Fluent French required; basic English is preferred.
