The Pipeline Partner generates an in-depth understanding of the healthcare ecosystem in new disease areas and supports the affiliate (s) with launch readiness for our innovative portfolio.
The initial focus will be on inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and ophthalmology. It is an integrated role focusing on exchange of scientific info (update in medical research, management of diseases etc.
with the intent to map the healthcare landscape and identify partnership opportunities and challenges. The Pipeline Partner is a member of Algeria Portfolio & PHC Strategy Squad and Pipeline Strategy Squad for Africa reporting to both squad leads for capability building and value-creation respectively.
In this position, you will :
Manage and contribute to portfolio, disease area and molecule strategy, including where to focus (e.g. indication prioritization) and how to win (e.
g. clinical, access strategy)
Gain market understanding in new disease areas and evaluate market potential that will establish the landscape relevant for all countries
Develop and facilitate relationships and collaborative networks with external stakeholders to gain understanding of country or assigned countries new disease area(s) ecosystems.
This involves determining the patient flow and the patient journey, identifying therapies utilized, and learning about the beliefs and behaviors of the stakeholders involved
Work with relevant external stakeholders, including therapeutic area experts (TAEs), health care professionals (HCPs) and patient advocacy groups (PAGs), in compliance with applicable rules and regulations
Discuss and support data generation strategy for the new disease areas to identify gaps and opportunities for additional data generation needs to support the market understanding in the relevant countries
Support Regulatory Affairs in interactions with regulatory agencies and authorities on our pipeline
Identify and assess health policy, pharmaco-economic as well as pricing and reimbursement challenges
Prepare information packages on defined development products, their therapeutic indications, opinion leaders and other relevant information and ensure timely and smooth hand-over to the affiliates for initiation of pre-launch planning
Partner with global and affiliate cross-functional colleagues :
Cooperates closely with Global and Pharma International to ensure continuous alignment to support disease area strategy
Closely liaise with policy and access teams to navigate successfully the local landscape and to shape a more favorable environment for a successful implementation of the disease area strategy
Maintains communication and provides development to build understanding, alignment and collaboration of the affiliates as needed with the disease area strategy
Take an active role in the Global Pipeline community
Closely collaborate with Roche Diagnostics, as required to develop a One Roche approach
Skills, competencies, experience :
Degree in science, medicine, business or a related field
Work experience in commercial, medical and / or access roles
In-field experience, e.g. as medical science liaison, sales representative, key account manager, etc.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to successfully navigate a complex organizational matrix
Ability to effectively manage extensive networks of internal and external contacts
Fluency in English
Good understanding of local health-care system coupled with the ability to understand and address opportunities / gaps for bringing innovative medicine to clinical practice
A strong ethical mindset and good understanding of relevant compliance principles and regulations
